Portfolio and writing a concept statement

well this week has been a right pain but I shouldn't complain I am getting all the help I need but just not actioning it properly and then on top of that placement I still havent found one and I havent started to build my portfolio until now I really should have done this a lot sooner but from the few pages i have just done i actually like how they look but i shall wait for the feed back session i really hope i find a placement in Preston or in Newcastle but its a matter of luck just got to keep my fingers crossed.

also my tutor reminded me that i have to do a small paragraph that explains my concepts and i really dont know where to start but this website is helping me so for anyone who has trouble writing a description for a concept no matter the subject this could come in handy:

Fabric sourcing

well for this current project I have the opportunity to source my own fabrics I could have gone to London for three days but it would have cost me a bomb so there was no point even though London is the fashion capital and I don't argue that fact, its just that as a student you have to save where you can especially in the fashion courses, but i am going off topic so.. I chose the textile view concept of vanitas (Latin for vanity) so it relates to a heavy embroidered feel with a Tudor/Elizabethan influence but I also feel it goes a bit further back in history like the medieval period with the witch hunts and the magna carta so for designers I look toward the likes of Alexander McQueen's collection inspired by Elizabethan Fashion which has a rich and decadent feel but i also looked into the darker side going down the road of religion and death with my own research by sketching skulls and stained glass windows, architecture, blue prints of churches.

And below here is a spider diagram of what I thought of when I looked into the subject.
